Commission a Book

Commissioning a book is usually an exciting moment for those involved. The unique nature of Elegant Gift Books means you cannot commission a book directly through our website. We recommend that you Contact Us for an informal chat, usually lasting 20 to 30 minutes, to discuss your ideas and needs.

This initial conversation is without obligation and will help you to understand what to expect and the many options available. You may choose to commission a book at the end of this initial conversation, or consider your options and then contact us again for more information, before making a final decision.

We then provide a simple order form, which you post or email back to us. The form confirms your individual requirements and we can then start work collecting content and briefing our craftsmen on the materials and work required to craft your gift book.

Costs

Elegant Gift Books are individually tailored to your needs and therefore the cost of each book varies widely depending on your choices. When we have a better understanding of your requirements we can provide an accurate estimate of the costs of your book.

Many factors can affect the final price, for example the style and format of the book, how many hours we spend on editing, your choice of finish, number of pages or how many copies we print for you.

Books for Family and Friends

A typical 100 page book with 60 photographs (for example, for a 60th birthday present) will take two to three months to produce and cost 1,400 British Pounds (US$2,800 or 2,000 Euro approx). Costs are often shared between a few members of the family and can be lower or higher depending on your needs. We are happy to guide you through your options and the related costs.

Corporate Gift Books

Each Corporate Gift Book is different. Each one is individually quoted although retirement gifts can be produced using similar processes to the books for families and friends. These Corporate Gift Books can start from 2000 British pounds (US$4000 or Euro 3,000).

Photographic Masterpieces

Photographic Masterpieces reflect the additional costs of photographing the subject in various UK and/or overseas locations. These books are produced in a larger landscape format. The cost of a typical book starts at around 3,000 British pounds (US$6,000 or 5,000 Euro approx) although it is not uncommon for these books to cost nearer 10,000 British pounds.
